Helen D. Crow, 85, of Thatcher, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009, at her home in Thatcher. She was born July 28, 1923, in Santa Rita, N.M., to James Caleb Doyal and Gladys Lovelace. She married Daniel F. Crow in 1938 in Higden, Ark. Daniel passed away March 1, 2007.

Helen grew up in Arkansas on the family farm and attended school there. After she married, her family moved to California for a short time and then to Arizona, where Daniel worked for Phelps Dodge Mine. She loved the outdoors, fishing and feeding birds. She crocheted and made many gifts for friends and family.

She is survived by her daughter, Glenna (David) Green of Safford; sons, Olan (Marie) Crow of Linden and Daniel (Linda) Crow of Safford; sister Katherine Pumphrey of Heber Springs, Ark.; 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Mary Ann Trothier, son Randall Crow, and grandson Billy Ray Heard.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, at Caldwell Funeral Chapel, 112 East Main, Safford. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment will be at the Safford Cemetery.
