Neva Jean Kirkland

CASA GRANDE - Neva Jean Kirkland, 71, of Casa Grande died Nov. 13, 2006 at Chandler Regional Hospital.

Visitation was to be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The funeral there will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Raymond Wilson officiating.

Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

Mrs. Kirkland was born Feb. 16, 1935 in Sulphur Springs, Texas. She owned Neva's Yarn Shop in Casa Grande Mall and was known for her excellent needlepoint work. She was a member of several needlepoint guilds and traveled to seminars around the country. She chaired the O'Odham Tash arts and crafts exhibit for several years. She was a life member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She was known for her sense of humor and always wanted to help others. She was an avid reader of American history and a movie buff. She was a team member of Casa Grande Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. She enjoyed having her family and friends over for holiday dinners, especially on Thanksgiving and Christmas for more than 50 years.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis; two sons, Joaquin Kirkland of Tucson and Noel Kirkland of Chandler; a sister, Betty Adams of Gilbert; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to CGRMC Auxiliary or Valley Humane Society.
