Emmitt McMenamin enjoyed life on earth between 1920 & 2016. He was a native to the Verde Valley. He continued until the end of his life to walk its hills, hunt and slow all traffic down when he was in the lead.

As a young man, he served in WWII. Later he worked for Yavapai County. He enjoyed telling stories about all the roads he and the crews built here in the valley. He spoke fondly of so many people he worked with throughout the years.

He was a hard headed man and many people knew that he always squeezed a dime. He lived like he had no money. He was a hard worker and a very smart man. He loved dogs and solitude.

He was true to his moral compass at all cost. Up to the end, he did not want to leave this valley that he loved. He had so many loyal friends that came to visit during his brief illness.

He is survived by three children and many grandchildren. He was in the care of two nieces who received a great teaching from him in his last days.

Thank You Emmitt.
