CUNDALL, Vivian Royball Vivian Royball was born to Gaspar Mendoza and Rita Lopez Verdugo on May 29, 1947, in Janas Chihuahua, Mexico. She died April 5, 2009, in Glenrock, Wyoming. Vivian was adopted by Sabino and Carmen Roybal at a very young age and was raised in Clifton, where she attended Clifton Schools. She went on to attend cosmetology school in Scottsdale, where she received her license. She married Fred Cundall, who was stationed at Williams Air Force Base. They had a son, Timothy Allen, who died as an infant in April 1968. They went on to London to complete Fred’s tour. The couple made their home in Wyoming and had two children, Damon and Rita. The couple divorced in 2000. Vivian met her fiancé, Vernon Velasquez, in 2002. For the next seven years, they would spend all their time traveling to faraway places, such as Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico and other states. They purchased a home in Clifton, which they were in the process of refurbishing. This kept them in Clifton five or six months out of the year. Vivian loved collecting antiques, and she was very talented as an artist. Her main love was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, Jonathon and Brittany. Vivian was preceded in death by her infant son, Timothy Allen; her father, Sabino Roybal; and brother Raymond Roybal. She is survived by her children, Damon (Patty) Cundall of Wyoming, Rita Moser; grandchildren Jonathon and Brittany of Wyoming; fiancé Vernon Velasquez of Wyoming; mother Carmen Roybal; siblings Richard (Irene) Campos, Rudy (Ernestine) Campos, James Roybal, Jean (Don) Romero, Ann (Joe) Valtierra, Sabino (Jodi) Roybal Jr., Robert (Cathie) Roybal, Roseanna Roybal, Janet (Tony) Lujan, Paul Roybal, Margo (Victor) Reyes, sister Linda Verdugo of California; and aunts and many nieces and nephews. The family is celebrating with a memorial Mass in her honor May 2 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Parish in Clifton. A luncheon will follow at the Parish Center, where everyone is invited to join the family. Published in the Eastern Arizona Courier Wednesday, April 29, 2009. |
