Paul D. Brown, 78, of Cottonwood died May 1. He was born July 20, 1930 in North Vernon, Indiana, the son of Paul D. Page and Florence Brown.

He attended schools in Indiana and was a graduate of Arizona State University where he received a Bachelors of Arts degree. Mr. Brown served his country as a staff sergeant in the Air Force during the Korean War.

He worked as a graphic artist, photographer, pastor and a elementary school substitute teacher. He graduated from college at the age of 66. He was a member of the cast for "The Bachelor & the Bobby-soxer". An ordained Baptist minister, he had worked as the singles pastor at the Van Nuys Baptist Church and in this area was a member of the Verde Baptist Church.

His hobbies included piano playing, artist, wood carving, travel, meeting people, craftsman, gardener, avid reader, Creationism and preaching the Gospel. He will be remembered as a supportive, generous husband and father, always on your side, witty, outgoing, personable, loved life, loved to laugh and give hugs.

Mr. Brown leaves his wife of 21 years, Martha Brown; sons, Paul David Brown (Virginia) and Loren Dale Brown, James Robert Hoffman (Gail), all of Calif., daughters, Shari Diane Possone (Scott) of Wisc. and Rebekah Gail Mocerino (Robert) of Montana; sister Paula Diane Drake of Lake Montezuma, Ariz.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 9 in the Verde Baptist Church at 11 a.m.
