Carl Edward “Porky” Pedroza, Sept. 6, 1941 – Oct. 5, 2016. Carl, or “Porky” as many of his family members and friends affectionately called him, was born in Jerome, Arizona, to Angelita and Theodore Pedroza. A few years later he was joined by a sister, Irene. The family lived in the small community of Humboldt, where “Porky” attended kindergarten and elementary school until the eighth grade. “Porky” then attended Prescott High School, graduating in 1959.

Upon graduation, “Porky” attended Northern Arizona University, completing enough credit hours for an Associate’s Degree in Business Management and working toward his bachelor’s degree, only falling short a semester because he left due to the untimely death of his father.

“Porky” settled in Prescott, marrying his first wife, Irene Soriano, and having his first and only child, Annette. He resided here his entire life, wanting to be close to his daughter and family but also because he loved being a part of a community where he enjoyed playing softball, going to antique car shows, socializing at the casino or just walking around the courthouse plaza. As a service technician for Coca-Cola for 30 years, making his rounds in and around the Prescott area, “Porky” always managed to make a friend with his infectious laugh and easy-going manner.

That is what we will truly miss about him.

He is survived by his mother, Angelita Nash; step-father, Bobby J. Nash; daughter, Annette Trujillo; son-in-law, Angelo Trujillo; grandson, Nathaniel Trujillo; and granddaughter, Tamara Trujillo. He is also survived by longtime companion Debbie Massey, many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and those dear friends who he considered like family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Pedroza; and his sister, Irene Pedroza.

Visitation and Rosary will be on Oct. 11, 2016, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave., Prescott. Funeral mass will be on Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury St., Prescott. Interment and luncheon to follow.
