Robert Harrison Dickey, Jr., born November 7, 1946, passed away on October 9, 2016.

Bob left a big hole in this world with his passing on Sunday morning. He was joyfully welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in the early morning hours. He was at home under the care of the wonderful Hospice Family Care.

Bob married his wife, Janie, on October 21, 2008, at Goldwater Lake in Prescott. She survives, along with his stepsons, Tim Hueber in Texas and Jon Hueber in Arizona; two stepdaughters, Melissa Turnquist in Illinois and Laura Williams in Indiana; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved all of them because he loved his wife and they are a part of her, he would say. Bob is also survived by his sisters, Kathy Wagoner and Pam Wagoner and brother Phil Dickey, all of Lebanon, Indiana. He also has brothers Larry and Tim here in Arizona; with nieces and nephews in both places. Bob was preceded to Heaven by his parents, Mary and Robert Dickey; his first wife, Colleen; and his sister, Elizabeth.

He was a teacher of Health for 7th and 8th grades for 30 years, and as a pastor, he shared his love for the Lord with many. He often said if he had not had heart problems, he would still be teaching. He loved all people, adults and children, and animals, as well. He was the Prayer Coordinator, a distinction he loved to fulfill, for First Southern Baptist Church in Chino Valley. A Memorial Service will be held there on November 7. That would have been Bob’s 70th birthday. His wife, Janie, will be taking his ashes to Lebanon, Indiana, for burial there on November 1, 2016.
