FOSTER, Jerry Lynn

Jerry Lynn Foster, 76, of Shumway died peacefully with his family at his side April 25, 2009. Jerry was born April 3, 1933, in Fort Thomas to Charlie Joyce "Hodge" Foster and Margaret Preston Foster Bourdon.

After his father Hodge passed away Jerry spent his younger years being raised on Bourdon Ranch by his mother Margaret and stepfather William "Bill" Bourdon and with brother Roger Foster and sister Joyce Foster.

In the early 1950s Jerry joined the Air Force, and in 1951 he fell in love with and married Marva Lou "Mickey" Sanders. They raised a family and lived on their land in Shumway.

Jerry spent many years working as an engineer in Africa, South America, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia. After traveling, Jerry was an entrepreneur, starting his own businesses and in his later years was a master mason and a past master in the Chalcedony Lodge No. 6 F and AM of Holbrook.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Hodge Foster; stepfather Bill Bourdon, mother Margaret Bourdon and sister Joyce Foster Fisher.

Surviving family are his wife, Marva Lou "Mickey" Foster; sons Dennis Hodge (Christy) Foster and William Ben (Dawn) Foster; daughters Debbie (John) Leiferman, Diane (Larry) Holland and Jodie (Roy) Calderon; brother Roger Foster; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren with two more on the way.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations of gratitude be sent to the RTA Hospice Compassus of Payson, 511 S. Mud Springs Road, Payson, AZ 85541, Attn: Patty.

Private family services were held.
