Jack Cartier

Jack was born January 31, 1928 in Ford City, Ontario, Canada to Lawrence and Laura Cartier. His family moved to the United States and settled in Ferndale, Michigan when Jack was seven years old. He was the second of nine children, seven boys and two girls.

Jack enlisted in the Navy in 1946 serving on the USS Davison. Upon discharge, he returned to Ferndale and married the love of his life Estelle Francis on November 20, 1948. Jack and Estelle were blessed with eight children and relocated to California in 1961 and then settled in Arizona in 1964. Jack & Estelle finished raising their family in Prescott where they lived for 47 years.

Above all, Jack loved his family. He was Papa to 17 grandchildren and 16 great grands. Always quick with a joke, Jack loved to make people laugh.

Jack is survived by his wife Estelle; sons Jack, Tim, Rick, Bob, & Dan and daughters Suzanne and Kathleen along with brothers Jim & Tom and sister Rita. He is preceded in death by his son Christopher and granddaughter Carly along with brothers Joe, Gerard, Leo, & Dave and sister Anne.

Services to be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday November 23rd at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1800 East Libra Drive, Tempe, AZ 85282.

In lieu of flower the family request donations to Jack’s favorite charity the Capuchin Soup Kitchen www.cskdetroit.org.
