ROJAS, Placido

COOLIDGE - Placido Diaz Rojas, 71, a Coolidge native and resident, died May 5, 2009 at home. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud Coolidge Chapel, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will be in Florence Cemetery.

Mr. Rojas was born Nov. 28, 1937 and was a son of Pedro and Eulalia Rojas. He worked at R.E. Anderson Farms from 1959 until 2000 and was a foreman. He enjoyed camping in the White Mountains, trips to California and visiting casinos. He loved music and dancing, working in his shop fixing things and making them work better. He enjoyed Friday night tacos and wrestling.

Survivors include his wife, Aurelia; six daughters, Hope Garcia, Terri Pina, Mary Macazan, Margie Rodriguez, Becky Duarte and Alice Rojas; a son, Placido Rojas Jr.; a brother, Raymond Rojas; three sisters, Mary Lou Vasquez, Alicia Benevidez and Ysuara Martinez; 27 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Trini Bueno and Theresa Romero, and a granddaughter, Sarah O. Macazan.
