Sandra Lee Solomon

Sandra Lee Solomon went home to her Heavenly Father on July 4, 2004. Sandra was born in Columbus, Ohio and moved to Arizona from Delaware, Ohio in 1973.

She attended Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio and Arizona State University. She has a Master's degree in Education with a specialty in elementary education and reading. Sandra taught fourth grade at Copper Creek Elementary School in the Deer Valley District.

She was Vice-President and Executive board member of the Deer Valley Education Association and a member of the National Education Association, being selected as a delegate to the Annual NEA Convention several times. Sandra was also a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international honorary organization of women educators dedicated to educational excellence, altruism, and world understanding.

Her parents, Robert and Yvonne Solomon, preceded Sandra in death. She is survived by her sister, Roberta Bosley (Bob), Gilbert, AZ, brother, Jack Solomon (Joan), Avon Park, Fl. 3 nieces, Teri Hesse (Brian), Mesa, AZ, Tami Reid (Rex), Chandler, Az., Karen Leonard (Trevor), Kennesaw, GA, and nephew, Brian Solomon (Cindy), Lakeland, Fl., 5 great nieces, 5 great nephews and 1 great, great nephew. Sandra has been an inspiration to many and will be greatly missed by all.

There will be a visitation and celebration of Sandie's life: on Thursday, July 8, 2004 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with service at 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Chapel 6830 W Thunderbird Rd., Peoria, AZ. Burial will be in the Prospect Cemetery, Prospect, Ohio.

In view of Sandra's dedication to the education of young people and in honor of the care provided to Sandie by Hospice of the Valley, in lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made in Sandie's name to Copper Creek Elementary School located at 7071 West Hillcrest Boulevard, Glendale Arizona 85310 or to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 East Flower Street, Phoenix Arizona 85014.
