Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 <<< Naomi Elizabeth Burton, 90, passed away Oct. 29, 2016. Naomi, or Liz as she preferred to be called, was born to Pearl and Harry Unruh in Medford, Ore., Dec. 8, 1925. Liz always had a passion for adventure. She traveled extensively throughout the United States as an Arthur Murray dance instructor and performer for the USO during World War II. She continued her travels well into her 80s. She was also an avid gardener and was known for her yard being filled with colorful flowers. Liz had a vibrant personality and touched the lives of her family with her unwavering support for them as well as anyone she met through her kindness. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Pearl, brothers Roy, Abe and Fay, sister Opal and husband Harold Burton. Liz is survived by her daughters Sherry McGuire and Arda Renee Johnson, grandson Kristopher, step-grandchildren Sherri and James, great-granddaughters Arianna and Rylie, step-great-granddaughters Michelle and Nicole. A celebration of life is set for 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 11 in the Sunset Room, adjacent to Papa Leone’s Pizza in the English Village. Lunch will be provided. Donations in lieu of flowers should go to Hospice of Havasu. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
