AKERS, Lloyd C.

Lloyd C. Akers, 93, passed away in Phoenix, Arizona, March 5, 2005. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma May 16, 1911 and moved to Phoenix with his parents in 1921. Married to his first wife, Ethel, for forty-five years before her death in 1975 and is survived by his second wife Lorene for twenty-five years.

He was a loving father of three sons, and is survived by his only living son Chuck and daughter in-law Joyce. He had seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. He was a member of North Hills Church of God and was a proud greeter and usher for over forty years. As a provider for his family, he worked in construction until 1964 when he accepted the position of custodian at his church where he faithfully served until his retirement in 1981.

Visitation will be at the Chapel of Chimes Mortuary, 7924 North 59th Avenue, Glendale, Arizona, Wednesday, March 9th. Funeral services will be at the North Hills Church of God, 15025 North 19th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona, Thursday, March 10th. Service begins at 11:00 am followed by interment at the Greenwood Memory Lawn, 2300 W. Van Buren, Phoenix, Arizona.
