BEGAY, Josetta Kinsel

Josetta Kinsel Begay, 43, of Tempe, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2003 after a long illness. She was born on April 19, 1960 in Ganado, Arizona to Paschal Kinsel Sr. and Sarah Azye. As a child she attended schools in Tucson and Arcadia Elementary in Phoenix then later attended Chinle High School where she met and later married her future husband Gerald Begay. She moved to Portales, New Mexico with her husband and daughter Shannon and later graduated from Clovis New Mexico High School. While in Portales she attended Eastern New Mexico University majoring in computer technology while caring for and raising her young daughter. After her husbands' graduation and commissioning in the United States Army from college they traveled together from U.S. Army posts in Colorado, Virginia and Europe. After many years moving from Army posts she and her husband settled in Tempe. She was a homemaker, advisor, and loving companion for her family. She always had a bright smile a terrific personality and all the time spoke her mind. She always enjoyed meeting people and making new friends wherever she went and often times helped others who were not as fortunate.

Her husband of 28 years Gerald, daughter Shannon, brother Paschal Jr., sister Francine and enumerable uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews survives her. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Patrick, Lyle, Guadalupe, Michael and sister Alberta. Funeral Service at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1800 E. Libra, Tempe, AZ., Monday, September 29, 2003. Published in the Arizona Republic from 9/28/2003 - 9/30/2003.
