Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 <<< Jack W. Guest, 85, a longtime resident of Lake Havasu City, passed away Jan. 7, 2017. Jack was born in Cleveland on Dec. 19, 1931 to Irene and Albert Guest. He married Midge Belt Aug. 16, 1952 in San Diego prior to shipping out to Korea with the U.S. Navy. He served as a corpsman in Korea beside the Marines. Jack is preceded in death by Midge, his beloved wife of 61 years, his parents and brother. Returning home, Jack attended San Diego State and Cal State, Los Angeles, completing his master’s degree in public health. Over the years, Jack became known as an expert in the field of alcoholism and substance abuse and their effects in the workplace. Jack retired from Hughes Aircraft as manager of employee counseling after 18 years of service. He is survived by his sister Marijane Guthrie (Cal Colvin), three children: Philip (Terry) Guest, Susan (Larry) Barron, and Donna Guest; five grandchildren Tanya, Carolynn, Rory, Larry and Todd, four great-grandchildren, plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service is set for 9 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 12 at Lietz- Fraze Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Havasu in the name of Jack W. Guest.
