Richard (Dick) Marlin Hartman, 75, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2017 at his
home in Lake Havasu City.

Dick was born in Barada, Nebraska on March 16, 1941 to Leslie (Bud)
and Carmetta (Sailors) Hartman. His family moved to Torrance, Calif.
where he attended North High School, joining the United States Air
Force shortly thereafter.

It was in Torrance that Dick met his neighbor and love of his life,
Jacklyn (Mathews) Hartman. They wed April 28, 1962. They were
married for 50 years.

While in California, Dick worked for North American Aviation and
helped to build several of the Apollo space capsules. In 1971 he and
Jackie moved back to Nebraska where he ran his own construction
company, farmed and raised their children. His family landed in
Havasu in 1984 where he began working for the Lake Havasu Unified
School District as a crafts-carpenter and continued to do so until
retirement. He took pride in his workmanship and many pieces he
built are still in use in the school district.

In his earlier years, Dick enjoyed hunting while later in life he
enjoyed spending time with his nine grandchildren and watching his
beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers play football on Saturdays. He was a
lifetime member of the Elks and a member of Grace Episcopal Church.

He leaves behind his children Denise (Mark) Miner, Scott (Cynthia)
Hartman, Melissa (Jodi) Brown and Kristina (Gary) Merz and
grandchildren: E’Leece, Haze, Andrew, Alec, Taylor, Tiera, Mega, and
Jake.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacklyn Hartman and his
grandson Logan Allen.

As per his request, there will be no services, however a celebration
of life is Jan. 28 at 2741 Indian Pipe Dr., 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
