Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Thursday, January 12, 2017 <<< Robert W. Roberts (Bob), or to some Fireball, and to others Sarge, passed away Dec. 29, 2017. Bob was born Dec. 30, 1947 to Orval and Loraine Roberts in Cambria, Minnesota. He was the fifth son in a family of six boys that finally later included a little girl. Bob graduated from Lake Crystal High School in Minnesota. At a very young age, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. He received two Bronze stars, a Purple Heart and was honored to be promoted to Sergeant. Later, Bob once again served his community as a sergeant with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. He received his B.A. degree from the University of Laverne in California. Bob was preceded in death by his former wife Jerri Evans, five brothers and his mother and father. He is survived by Vickie, his wife of 21 years, stepson Jeffrey Badstubner and his wife Shelley Badstubner, two beautiful grandchildren Grant and Paige, with whom he was very proud to be called "Grandpa," and also a sister Darlene. A celebration of Bob’s life will be Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. at Lake Havasu City’s American Legion Post 81, 181 Paseo Del Sol. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Western Arizona Humane Society of Lake Havasu City or the Disabled American Veterans. |
