Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Sunday, January 15, 2017 <<< >>> Feb. 11, 1941—Nov. 6, 2016 <<< James Leslie Foreaker, 75, a native of Gary, Ind., passed away peacefully Nov. 6, at his home in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Florence Foreaker, as well as his sister Caryl Lukasik and nephew Jim Lukasik. “Jimmy” moved to Arizona when he was 12 years old. As an adult, he moved to California where he worked in the beer industry until retirement. During this time he built a house in Lake Havasu and moved back in 2001. His dream was to retire early and play golf every day. Jim was a simple man with not a lot of wants. He was charismatic, funny and had an infectious laugh; the life of the party. His close friends encompassed all areas of his life; the beer business, fishing, hunting, cycling and golf. You knew you were loved by him if he gave you a nickname. Jim was not without challenges in his life, but he loved his friends and family and he deeply appreciated everyone to the very end. Jim was a good man and he’ll be sorely missed. Jim is survived by two children, his son Darren Foreaker and daughter Janeen Straub and his only grandson Jack Straub, who was his joy and always made him smile. A memorial service is at 11 a.m., Feb. 11, at the Community Presbyterian Church, 3450 Chemehuevi Blvd, Lake Havasu City, AZ. Following the service, a luncheon reception to celebrate Jim’s life will be at The London Bridge Resort, 1477 Queens Bay in the Sunset Room. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, to please consider a donation to Comfort Keepers of Lake Havasu City or Beacon of Hope, Hospice Care. Condolences may be sent to the Foreaker/Straub family at dj92108@me.com. |
