Troy Denman

Troy Denman, Arizona horseman goes home to be with the Lord. Passed on peacefully at home with family present August 28th 2003, he was 87. Troy was born in Quinlan Texas July 17, 1916 and moved to the Phoenix area in 1936 with the CCC program, and lived her in the valley until his passing. He was a small business owner and operator in the automotive industry most of his working career. He always had a love for racehorses and became an owner and trainer of thoroughbred horses in 1951, racing at the Arizona Fairgrounds and Arizona Downs, later moving to Turf Paradise and other tracks in the southwest. He continued to own and train thoroughbreds up until a few years before his passing.

Troy was survived by brothers Clearance Denman, Emmett Denman, and Frank Denman; wife Norma Denman; daughter Louise Carlson and sons Bill Denman, Dale Denman, John Denman; 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Published in the Arizona Republic on 9/3/2003.
