Blanche K. (Kelley) Sweey

Blanche K. Sweet, 95 years, of Prescott, passed away Feb. 18, 2017. She was born June 25, 1921, in Phoenix, Arizona to Nancy and William Kelley. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, C. Harlan Sweet; her daughter Carolyn Sweet-Moore; and her only sister, Carrie E. Hill of Cornville.

She is survived by two nieces, Phyllis Pirtle and Pat Pennington of Cornville, Arizona. She attended Monroe and McKinley Grammar Schools, Phoenix Union High School and graduated from Tolleson Union High School. She married her sweetheart, C. Harlan Sweet, and immediately afterwards, moved to Chino Valley, in 1951, where she worked at the Post Office for 30 years. She was also the secretary-treasurer of the Chino Valley Fire District for 25 years. After retiring, she became a volunteer and was kept busy with the Lioness Club, church, aqua fitness classes, and her Card Ministry. She lived a very active and happy life, loving to travel and share her adventures.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at Mountain View Cemetery, Prescott, Arizona.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of the Pines 13175 Highway 169, Suite B, Dewey, AZ 86327.
