WALDO, Dorothy 'Dotty' Dorothy "Dotty" Waldo, 61, of Pinetop-Lakeside died Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Hospice Compassus in Pinetop-Lakeside. She was born July 17, 1947, in Los Angeles, Calif., the daughter of William and Mary (Deich) Forgy. She was raised and attended school in La Canada, Calif. She graduated in 1969 from Long Beach State University with a bachelor of science degree in physical therapy. She married Chuck Waldo on July 26, 1969, at Long Beach. The couple lived in California for three years before moving to Pinetop 36 years ago. She worked for the Blue Ridge school system and Navajo County special services as a physical therapist until retirement in 2000. After retiring, she worked part-time at White Mountain Physical Therapy and the Bookworm Bookstore. She enjoyed reading, bridge, sewing, knitting, quilting, needlepoint, cats, gardening, her grandkids and shopping for her grandkids. She was a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Pinetop-Lakeside Historical Society, 20/20 Vision Committee and Community Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband, Chuck; daughters Caroline and husband Eric Cox of Pinetop-Lakeside; Colleen (Mark) Upton of Littleton, Colo.; son Stephen (Kathy) Waldo of Gilbert; grandchildren Tyler, Ryan, Lauren and Jared Cox of Pinetop-Lakeside, Brooke, Nathan and Corey Upton of Littleton, Colo., and Andrew Waldo of Gilbert. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at Saint Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Pinetop-Lakeside with Pastor Tom Berry of Community Presbyterian Church officiating.
