Dick Lee's Rites Held Here Today

Funeral services were held at 1 o'clock this afternoon for Richard (Dick) Henry Lee, 73, in the Ruffner Funeral home chapel. The Rev. Charles Franklin Parker officiated at the services, which were followed by private interment in Mountain View cemetery.

Mr. Lee was hit and killed by a automobile at 9:30 o'clock Friday night in Phoenix, where he had been visiting his daughter, and family. The accident occurred on North Seventh street, just north of Maryland avenue.

Dick Lee was born in Foxberg, Pa., June 21, 1878. He came to Flagstaff with his father and grandfather in 1893, later moving to Prescott, where the family lived for a number of years before establishing a permanent home in Chapparall. He engaged in mining early in life, following that profession continuously except for a brief interlude in the cattle business in Huron, Ariz.

Although he had been in poor health for the past few years, he was not a 'shut in,' but enjoyed frequent visits with his friends in Prescott, recounting tales of early day history, in which he was remarkably well informed.

He was married Oct. 12, 1911, to Dora Sessions, eldest daughter of the pioneer family of Cherry.

He is survived by his wife, who resides at 613 Hillside avenue, and a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Edithe) Ford, and two grandchildren, Tanja and Dane Christensen, of Phoenix.
