Marjorie May Ruprich (nee Herschelman), age 86, died peacefully in her home on April 14, 2017, with her family at her side. Margie was born to Wesley Edward Carl Herschelman and Flossie May Peterman on November 5, 1930 in Detroit, Mich.

At the age of nine she moved to Harsens Island, Mich., with her father, step-mother Kathryn (Krispen) and her two step-siblings, Eugene and Barbara. She graduated from Algonac High School with the class of 1949. Marjorie married George Michael Ruprich on May 23, 1953.

Together they enjoyed raising their children, entertaining friends and relatives, playing pinochle, bridge and euchre, as well as golf and bowling. They were wonderful grandparents. Marjorie and George moved several times during retirement, from Michigan to Tucson, Ariz., and then to Crossville, Tennessee before finally settling in Prescott Valley, Ariz., in 2004 where they made many wonderful friends.

George preceded Margie in death on June 15, 2010. Marjorie is survived by her three children, Linda (Bill) Reynolds, Michael (Dianne) Ruprich, and Susan Dykeman (Jim) Burton. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Billy Reynolds, Julie Reynolds, Michael Ruprich, Jennifer Ruprich, Bob (Lauren) Dykeman, Wesley Dykeman, Patrick Burton and Olivia Burton; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Since Margie loved entertaining in her home, a celebration of her life was held there on April 18, 2017 for her many friends. Her family wishes to thank them for their attendance.

Margie requested cremation and her ashes will be interred with George at the Veteran’s Memorial Wall in Prescott, Ariz. A private family service will be arranged later this year. The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Society Hospice for their support, guidance and kindness during Marjorie’s brief illness and requests any donations be made to them in Marjorie’s name.
