Evelyn A. Mahon February 20, 1925 – February 22, 2009 Evelyn A. Mahon, 84, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at her residence in Oracle. She was born Feb. 20, 1925 in Monroe, Louisiana, the daughter of Ruble Earl and Elizabeth N. Barr Moore. She married Donald Waldo Mahon on Sept. 1, 1943. Mrs. Mahon was a former member of the Hickory Ridge United Methodist Church in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas. She was a second grade school teacher in Hickory Ridge and later in Oracle. She enjoyed oil painting, sewing, flower gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Her husband, Donald, preceded her in death. She leaves behind a son, Roger Mahon of Arizona City; daughter, Loretta Wolfe of Casa Grande; brothers, Earl Moore of Marked Tree, Arkansas and Phillip Moore of Beaumont, Texas; sister, Emaline Holleman of Wynne, Arkansas; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Mahon were held Feb. 27 at the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne, Arkansas with Rev. Robert DeBaun presiding. Interment was at Lewis Cemetery in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas. |
