Our Lord called Tanya L. Cecil to Heaven on May 10, 2017 at the age
of 66. Tanya passed peacefully in her daughter's home in Gilbert
while surrounded by her two daughters, son-in-law and close friends.

Tanya, was born in McNary, Arizona on October 6, 1950, into a home
of loving parents and was sister to her two siblings. As a little
girl, she moved to Yreka, CA with her family where she flourished
into the beautiful woman she became.

Tanya attended College of the Siskiyous in Weed, CA and continued
her education at the University of California Santa Barbara. Tanya
began her career as a telephone operator and continued in the
telecommunications field for many years while loving every bit of
it.

Seven years after the birth of her first daughter, Tanya retired
from telecommunications and, not long after, stepped into the family
short line railroad business. She became General Manager of the San
Pedro and Southwestern Railroad in Benson, AZ and held that position
for 5 years. She then moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ to manage the
Arizona and California Railroad for 15 years.

Throughout Tanya's time on earth, she provided her daughters with
constant love, devotion, and friendship. She showered her grandsons
with love and laughter and they loved every second of it. Tanya had
a true devotion to her parents and siblings, as they were her
foundation. Tanya had a passion for travel and would do so with her
family to places near and far including England, Germany, France,
and her favorite, Italy. Tanya is survived by her parents Lynn and
Suzie Cecil of Fountain Hills, AZ; uncle, Hollice (Shirley) Marcum;
sister, Taia Lockhart; brother, Rick (Lynette) Cecil; two daughters,
Heather (Patrick) Cecil-Morehart and Suzie Cooley; two grandsons
Corben and Holden Cecil; three nephews and two nieces.

We have lost a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, aunt,
grandmother, and friend. Tanya is a true hero to us all and we will
miss her each and every day of our lives. Services for Tanya will be
held on May 17, 2017 at 10:00am at Paradise Memorial Gardens located
at 9300 East Shea Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ 85260. Memorials can be made
to Patient Advocate Foundation, 421 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA
23666, patientadvocate.org.
