Richard Sanchez Castaneda

Richard Sanchez Castaneda, 50, of Superior, passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2007 at Banner Gardens Hospice in Mesa.

Born July 4, 1956 in Superior to Paul and Enedina Castaneda, he was a lifetime resident of Superior.

Mr. Castaneda worked for Salt River Project for 22 years as a Line-Locator Specialist and was an owner of Mountain Air, an air conditioning company. He belonged to the Superior Optimist Club and was a community contributor in many ways. He was always a hard worker. In his spare time he loved to travel with his family. He made all their dreams come true.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Castaneda of Superior; daughter and son-in-law, Geresa and Eli Lopez of Superior; son and daughter-in-law, Alex and Julia Castaneda of Superior; father, Paul Castaneda; sisters, Olga Lopez and Katrina Mendoza; brothers, Andy, Paul Jr., and Joe Castaneda; granddaughter, Zoe Lucille Lopez; and many nieces and nephews.

Services for Mr. Castaneda were held Friday, Jan. 12, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Superior followed by the Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Father Francis Iber. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery in Superior.

Superior Funeral Home assisted the family.
