He was born Oct. 28, 1930, in Glasgow, Montana, the son of Peter and Victoria Czyzeski. He grew up in the Glasgow area, living there until age 56. Cap married Patsy Jennings in 1949. Together they raised five children. Cap owned and operated a residential and commercial contracting business, “Cap’s Painting.” He started at Opheim AFB and later went to Glasgow AFB as the base was being developed in the 1960s. He was dubbed in the community of Glasgow as the “fastest brush in town.” Together, he and wife Pat owned and operated the Rustic Lodge on Highway 2 from 1963 to 1972, and The Heritage Apartments and Daughters 4 dress shop until the 1980s. In January 1987, Cap’s Painting relocated to Lake Havasu City, where Cap and his son, Joe, established a partnership. Cap retired from painting in 1998 and transitioned to semi-retirement by operating Cap’s Vending until 2010. Living in a community of “snowbirds,” he also cared for residents’ homes while they were away for the summer. Until September 2016, Cap lived independently.
