Jimmie Derrill Bunting

Jimmie Derrill Bunting, Sr., 78, of Wickenburg went to be with the Lord on April 8, 2017. He is survived by two sons, Jimmie D. Bunting, Jr. and Roddy D. Bunting; and former spouse Sonia J. Bunting; brother James Weldon Bunting; sister Shirley Sandlin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was raised in Dumas, Ark., and after high school joined the U.S. Army and served eight years at the rank of sergeant before moving to Arizona and raising a family with Sonia. He was an avid horseman and enjoyed raising horses and mules. He team roped and enjoyed trail riding. He also loved the sand dunes in Yuma and had sand rails and several ATVs.

Jimmie was also involved in many organizations. He was a member of the Washington Wranglers, Phoenix JC's, Maricopa County Westside Sheriff's Posse, Verde Vaqueros and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also belonged to Wickenburg Elks Lodge #2160, American Legion Post 12 and a member of the American Legion Riders motorcycle club.

Jimmie loved life and his family to the fullest. He will be missed by many.
