Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Friday, July 7, 2017 <<< Gary Leroy Truedson, 79, of Lake Havasu City was called to his eternal home July 2, 2017 at Casa Grande Assisting Living while in the arms of Marilyn Truedson, his loving wife of 42 years. Gary was born in Manfred, North Dakota on May 7, 1938, the son of Lyle and Anna (Jenny) Truedson. The family moved to Clatskanie, Oregon in 1945 where Gary’s father purchased an auto parts store. Gary graduated from Clatskanie (Union) High School in 1956 and then attended Oregon State for a short time. In 1961, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was discharged in 1963. Gary then went to work for his dad’s auto parts store, Quality Auto Parts, in Clatskanie. He later took over the store when his dad retired. After early retirement, Gary and Marilyn traveled the country in their treasured motorhome until moving to Lake Havasu City in 2000. Surviving are his wife Marilyn, children Greg Truedson of Phoenix, Kevin Truedson of Kelso, Washington, Kurt Truedson of Granite Falls, Washington, Kim Armstrong (Tim) of Kelso, Washington, Terri Eichler (David) of Cornelius, Oregon, sisters Sharol Cohn of Kelso, Washington, and Terri Cherry of Texas., nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A tribute and celebration of Gary’s life is at the Elks Club in Havasu on Saturday, July 15 at 11 a.m. Pastor Charles Rainwater, a close friend of the family, will officiate along with full military honors courtesy of the Marine Corps League. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Havasu. |
