The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, August 6, 2017, page 7a Julie Anne Bartylla, passed away July 27, 2017, after a brave five month fight against a rare cancer. Julie is the beloved daughter of Amy and Buzz Bartylla, of Phoenix, Arizona, sister of Sara Bartylla Miller (Michael) of Phoenix, and Robert Bartylla (Mario-Luis Islas, MD) of Norfolk, Virgina. She loved and is loved by her nieces, Molly Miller, Annie Miller, Emily Miller; and nephews, Lucas Bartylla-Islas and Ethan Bartylla-Islas. Julie was born July 14, 1965, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in Phoenix, and just celebrated her 52nd birthday surrounded by family at Ryan House, where she received the most wonderful loving care for which we are thankful. Julie graduated from St. Mary’s High School and Yavapai College. Really enjoying Prescott, she was a staff member at Friendly Pines Camp, where she lived and looked forward to returning summer counselors and campers. Her co-workers were her second family. She kept in touch with long-time friends, enjoyed hiking, running and biking, including riding a bicycle across Iowa twice in RAGBRAI. Her recall of all sports trivia was amazing. Her grandparents are the late Louise and Charles McDaniel, of Prescott, and Hazel and Ed Bartylla, of Buckeye. A memorial in her name will be established at Friendly Pines Camp, attn: Kevin, 933 Friendly Pines Rd, Prescott, AZ, 86303. A service has been held. Information provided by survivors. |
