The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, August 15, 2007, page 5a Shirley Johnson. Shirley was born on Friday the 13th, December 1935, in Flint, Michigan. She died Aug. 3, 2017, in Prescott, Arizona. In between, she lived. She grew up in Clio, Michigan, one of nine children, married George Johnson of Grand Blanc, and moved with him to Newfane, New York. They later retired to Prescott. They had two children, Lyn (Tom) Cooney, of Holly, Michigan, and Kelly (Glenn) Ritzenthaler, of Schenectady, New York; and three grandchildren, Zoe Cooney, and Erik and Alec Ritzenthaler, who made her immensely proud. She volunteered everywhere — Girl Scouts, Band Boosters, United Methodist Church, Meals on Wheels ... and her presence will missed. She leaves behind her family, her friends, and Punkin, the cat. There will be a memorial service Nov. 25, at the Prescott United Methodist Church. It was a life very well lived ... just not long enough for those left behind. Information provided by survivors. |
Note: These obituaries are transcribed as published and are submitted by volunteers who have no connection to the families. They do not write the obituaries and have no further information other than what is posted within the obituaries. We do not do personal research. For this you would have to find a volunteer who does this or hire a professional researcher.
