Scott Eugene Hymel, 32, of Chino Valley, Ariz., passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2007. Scott was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming, on Oct. 31, 1974. He attended J. E. Cosgriff Memorial Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Judge Memorial Catholic High School, both in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Scott's interests were varied but he especially loved spending time with his children. He enjoyed reading and discussing philosophy, hiking and biking. His adventurous nature and challenging spirit led him to the restaurant business where he became a well-known and respected chef in the Prescott restaurant community. His sense of adventure and exploration was expressed in his culinary art.

Scott is survived by his two children, Hannah and Quintin, whom he loved dearly; his mother Darlene Hymel; and his father John Hymel; as well as his brother Brian Hymel; his sister Melissa Igel and brother-in-law Chris Igel; his sister Jessica Tamayo and brother-in-law Luis Tamayo; nephews Christopher and Nicholas Igel; nieces Kaitlin and Grace Igel and Micaela Tamayo; as well as his grandmother; an uncle; several aunts and cousins.

Visitation will be Friday, March 16, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave. Prescott, Ariz.

Funeral Mass will be Saturday, March 17, 2007, at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury Ave. Prescott, Ariz. with burial to follow at Heritage Memorial Park, 12000 Heritage Memorial Lane, Dewey, Ariz.
