Edna Mae (Michael) (Kirk) Conkey - Roth

Michael Maria Roth, 78, passed away on Nov. 6, 2001, in Oracle. She was born Edna Mae Kirk in Brooklyn, N.Y., in Dec. 9, 1922, and took on the name "Michael" as her painting signature name in 1944.

She was involved with the Boston Theater, attended the University of Michigan, studied at Tufts University in Massachusetts and received a Master of Applied Arts Degree in June 1963 at Montana State College.

Her life was led by the Holy Spirit and her artwork highly reflected that quality.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Colonel David Kirk and Effa Bluhm Kirk, as well as he first husband, George King Conkey.

She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) G. Roth and her sister, Doris Eyges, of Wellesley, Mass.

A Celebration Mass was held in Oracle on Nov. 12, followed by interment at the Oracle Cemetery.
