Richard Alfred Couture, 67, of Wickenburg, Ariz. passed away peacefully June 19, 2017, at home with his wife by his side. Richard, or "Richie" as many called him, was born Oct. 19, 1949, in China, Maine to Marie Rose Tardiff and Kenneth Couture. Richard was married to Sandra Jane Bucknam on Nov. 18, 1983, in Reno, Nev.

After graduating high school, Richard attended an apprentice program for the carpenter union. He then traveled to Madison, Wis., where he was the owner of a car wash before moving to Colorado where he worked as a carpenter. In 1977 he was hired on with the Burlington Northern Railroad in Sheridan, Wyo., where he worked until he retired in 2010 to Arizona.

Richard enjoyed spending time working with heavy machinery, hunting and fishing in the Big Horn Mountains, four-wheeling, and taking road trips across the country with his wife.

Richard was a caring man, who truly loved helping his family and loved ones with any projects they had. Richard is survived by his wife Sandra Jane Couture; his father Kenneth Couture; his four siblings Ray (Pam) Couture, Donald (Barbara) Couture, Cathy Simpson, and Cheryl (Duane) Rood; and his two grandchildren Kelsey and Tanner Grant. He was preceded in death by his mother Marie Rose Tardiff; his step-son Kirk Grant; and his two beloved dogs, Biscuit and Rusty.

A celebration of life will be held in Sheridan, Wyo., at a date to be determined. Interment will be held in Waterville, Maine, at a later date to be determined.
