Harry Leonard Parr, 54, passed away Dec. 25, 2001, at Desert Samaritan Hospital in Mesa after a long, hard battle with cancer. He was born Sept. 26, 1947, in Geneseo, Illinois to parents, Harry L. Parr Sr. and Juanita E. Partridge. He lived most of his life in Washington state and was a logger for several years before being injured in a logging accident. After the accident he worked for Rainier State School in Buckley, Washington and the Veterans Home in Orting, Washington. He met Lorinda Sue Palmer while at Rainier State School. They soon married and lived in Orting, Washington before moving to Riverside, Arizona in the summer of 1997. He worked at the Ray Mine for ASARCO until he became ill. He served as a cook in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam era. His loving wife, Lorinda Sue Palmer, survives him as well as three sons, Wes, and grandson, Cody, who had moved to Arizona in November, Dan of Buckley, Washington, and Felix (Melody) of Orting, Washington; and 10 grandchildren. His mother, Juanita Moran of Puyallup, Washington, also survives. Other survivors include sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Baldy Balmer, sister, Shirley Silvernail, and sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Lee Lingo, all of Orting, Washington; brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Carolyn of Canton, South Carolina; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Waiting for Harry on the other side was his father, Harry L. Parr Sr., his sister, Harriet Amato, and mother and father-in-law, Loyd and Clara Palmer. The family of Harry regrets that the information of his passing and service did not reach all of his friends. 01/25/2002. |
