| Robert G. Mendoza, 68, of Kearny, passed away Jan. 15, 2002 in Mesa. He was born May 14, 1933 in Dos Cabezas, Arizona. He lived in the Ray-Sonora area and worked for Kennecott Copper Company for 34 years before his retirement in 1987. He loved to play softball and had a great sense of humor. He loved a good joke. He also served with the United States Army. He is survived by his sons, Ralph B. Garcia, Robert Mendoza Jr. and Ernest Mendoza; daughters, Viola Mendoza, Celia B. Garcia, Mary Ann Mendoza, Roberta Stoughton, Eva Sanchez and Mary Mendoza; a sister, Elodia Alonzo; 24 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Father Augustine Kattady were held Monday, Jan. 21, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Superior. Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery. Griffith Mortuary handled the arrangements. 01/25/2002 Copper Basin News |
