Socorro Veliz Borbón died at home surrounded by her beloved family in Berkeley, California Jan. 19, 2002, at the age of 87. She was born in Cananea, Sonora, Mexico and was a resident of Arizona most of her life. Survivors include her daughters, Marta Borbón Ehling of Berkeley, Norma Borbón Arvizu of Fairfax, Virginia, Angelina Borbón of Tucson, and Josefina Borbón of Sacramento, California. Her sisters, Belen Cluff of Winkelman, and Hortensia Dunn of Los Angeles, California also survive along with grandchildren Cristina Arvizu Davis, Leonor Ehling, Amanda Arvizu Mattson, Dominic Ehling, Anthony Arvizu, Andre Ehling, Tito Sama Borbón, and Joseph and Alicia Wun. She also leaves 13 great grandchildren. Friends and family may visit on Friday, Jan. 25, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hayden. Rosary at The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 26, at the church. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. 01/25/2002 See Also: Gravestone |
