Posted 2009-05-13 by Arizona Newspapers
Ronald "Ronnie" C. Clark, 49, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at his home near Vernon in the White Mountains of Arizona. He was born July 10, 1952 in Florence, Arizona, to Ruthann and Claude Clark, and was the youngest of eight children. He lost his parents while still an infant and was taken into the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Midge and N.C. "Dink" Boydston, who raised him as their son.

He came to the Copper Basin area with the Boydston family in the late 50’s and lived in Hayden and later in Kearny. After graduating from Ray High School he began an apprenticeship program with the United Association of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry, Union Local 741, in Tucson, and earned journeyman status as a pipefitter-welder.

He traveled and worked in industrial construction for a few years before settling once again in Kearny. He was employed by Kennecott Copper Corporation and then ASARCO before being forced to retire due to illness in 1997.

Circumstances of his illness prompted him to leave the Copper Basin area a couple of years ago when he moved to Laveen, Arizona. He relocated to the White Mountains last fall.

He was an outdoorsman who liked four-wheeling and hunting and was an avid fisherman. He could also be described as a putterer and enjoyed working on cars, building and fixing things, re-modeling projects and almost anything else that involved working with his hands.

He discovered horses at an early age and soon developed into an accomplished rider. He also learned to rope as a youngster and enjoyed riding and roping into his adult years.

Survivors include his children, Dedee Ann Getz of Salt Lake City, Utah, David of Mesa, Austin of Casa Grande, Kyla of Ogden, Utah, and Chad and Courtney of Miami.

Also his sister and brother-in-law/mother and father, Midge and Dink Boydston of Queen Creek; nephews/brothers, Jeff (Julie) Boydston of Clovis, California, and Brad (Roncie) Boydston of Kearny; and niece/sister, Brenda (Jeff) Farris of Queen Creek.

Other survivors include brothers, Bobby Jo (Mary) Clark of Valley Springs, Arkansas, and Richard (Judy) Clark of the White Mountains; sister, Alice Clark of Mesa; sister-in-law, Vicki Clark of Kearny; grandchildren, Travis and Tiffany; and an extended family of in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He will also be missed by a great many working buddies and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by siblings, Virgil James "Jack" Clark, Maxine Clark, Mackey Clark and Thomas P. Clark.

A celebration of Ronnie’s life was held during memorial services Saturday, Jan. 19, at Words of Faith Ministries in Kearny.
