She was born on Dec. 3, 1928 to Hubert H. and Nora O. White Brickey, in Nocona, Texas.

Their small farm at San Simon produced such delicious items as tomato’s, potato’s artichokes and radishes. They raised their own pork and beef as well. She delighted in sharing the bounty from her gardens with friends and family.

She helped her husband John build their first home in Mammoth, and then another home in Oracle in 1976. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide in Tucson for a short time. Her life's calling was always her family. Her generosity hospitality, great sense of humor and loving nature will be missed by all who knew her.

Her husband of 56 years, John Cardell, died April 17, 2001, at their home in Oracle. She is preceeded in death by two grandsons, Virgil Raye and Eric John Keith, sisters, Mary Mae Williams, and Delores Fern Garvin, brothers, Joel Loniel Brickey and Roy Adrian Brickey.
