Prescott Journal Miner, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, October 8, 1918, page 5, column 3 Influenza Takes Away Young Man Born in Prescott A telegram was received yesterday from Winslow containing sad news of the death of Frank Draper, whom it was stated, was a victim of Spanish influenza. The deceased was about 30 years of age, and employed as a locomotive engineer of the Santa Fe. Another report was that he had been out hunting deer, and after his return complained of feeling ill, having had a bad cold. Pneumonia developed at once and he survived only a few days. Mr. Draper was born in Prescott. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Draper, both recently deceased, the family being prominently known in this county as pioneers. A brother survives, who is residing in San Bernardino, Cal., engaged in business. The death of this young man will be learned of with deep sorrow, as he was an exceptionally fine fellow and universally beloved. Transcriber's note: It is not know where Mr. Draper's final resting place is located. |
