Ernest Elmer Fraze, 83, passed away at his residence in Superior on Sunday, April 14, 2002. He was born in Harrisburg, Arkansas on June 10, 1918 and had lived in Arizona for 51 years. Mr. Fraze lived in Casa Grande, Eloy, Flagstaff and Globe before settling in Superior in 1967. He was an electrician and district serviceman for the Arizona Public Service Company and had worked for them for 30 years. He enjoyed leadership callings in the Globe Seventh Day Adventist Church since 1965 and was a faithful member. Mr. Fraze also enjoyed leather crafting, building and carpentry, gardening, hunting, fishing and camping. He taught 4-H in Globe in the early 1960s and was a complete outdoorsman. His survivors include sons, Ernie (Geri) Fraze of Show Low and Jay (Eileen) Fraze of Paulden; a daughter, Barbara (John) Cox of Superior; a brother, Thurman Fraze of Arizona City; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. His wife, Ethel, a daughter, Betty, a foster son, Bill, and grandsons, Travis and Everett, preceded Mr. Fraze in death. Funeral services were Thursday, April 18, 2002, at the First Baptist Church at Crowe and Belmont with Pastor Greg Jones of the Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Superior Funeral Home handled the arrangements. 04/16/02 Superior Sun. |
