Prescott Journal-Miner, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, October 20, 1914, page 1, column 2 Life Ends At Century Goal Pioneer residents of this county regret to learn of the death of Mrs Rosalia Blair, which occurred in Prescott yesterday morning, at an early hour, the end coming from extreme old age, after a decline in health of many months. She was the widow of the late Robert G. Blair, and for over fifty years had resided in this locality continuously, never leaving the county from the day they arrived. Close friends stated she had reached the ripe age of one hundred years, although there is no authentic record known of the year of her birth, She was a native of Chili (sic), South America, and first arrived in San Francisco early in the 50's and later came to Tucson with a brother, who later entered the Mexican army, to be killed during one of the revolutions in Sonora. Mrs. Blair was among the first women to resided in Weaver gulch during the Rich Hill excitement, coming to Prescott, later. She was favorably known in charitable circles, and befriended scores of men and women until the last. She has no known relatives, Transcriber's note: Mrs. Blair is buried in an unmarked grave at the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona. |
