Esther Apodaca Morales, 81 of Kearny, passed away in Gilbert Sunday, May 26, 2002. She was born in Tucson April 20, 1921. She was a homemaker who was un-exceled in cooking, crocheting, quilting, and in caring for her children and grandchildren. In her earlier years during the last World War, she worked in San Diego in a candy factory and in cutting metal service wings. With her life centered in her family she had been a member of the American Legion while living in Sonora. The family later moved to Kearny and in more recent times she enjoyed the casino environment in Globe. Survivors include her husband, Ray (Audencio) Morales of Kearny; sons, Leo (Susie) Hernandez of Apache Junction and Ramon (Jo Ann) Morales of Thatcher; daughter, Mary (Daniel) Melendez of Chandler; sisters, Mary Casillas of National City, California, and Petra Garcia of Superior; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Rosary service was Friday, May 31, at Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church in Kearny. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Fr. Dale Branson Saturday, June 1. Interment at Fairview Cemetery in Superior. Arrangements were handled by Griffith Mortuary. 06/04/2002. |
