Marian (Tarleton) Wheaton Born in Caldwell, Ohio on Oct. 24, 1920. Departed on Dec. 26, 2007 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona. Marian Wheaton, 87, of Cottonwood died December 26, 2007. She was born October 24, 1920 in Caldwell, Ohio, the daughter of Howard “Stub” Tarleton and Lou Tarleton. She was a graduate of Caldwell schools and attended Columbus School of Business. Prior to her marriage, she worked for the state of Ohio. She then was homemaker and mother. For a woman who never learned to ride a bicycle, to swim or learned to drive a car, Marian managed to travel the world extensively. Including one trip going completely around the world, a trans Siberian railroad trip and a cruise through the Panama Canal. Marian and her family moved to Sedona in 1966, residing there for nearly twenty years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Wheaton and a daughter Chris Wheaton Burn. She is survived by three daughters, Debbie Wheaton, Wade Brewer of Cornville, Ariz., Laura Anair, Scott of Phoenix and Lisa McVey, Patrick of Kingma, Ariz.; and four grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 31 in the Westcott Funeral Home at 12 noon. Burial will follow in the Shuerman Family Cemetery in Sedona.
