Martha K. Marine, 99, of Prescott, Arizona, died Saturday, March 17, 2007 at the Meadow Park Care Center in Prescott.

She was born Dec. 15, 1907, to Claus and Emma Burnhelm in Tidaholm, Sweden.

Martha attended grammar and high school in Flagstaff, Arizona.

She met George Marine in Flagstaff, Arizona and they were married in 1927.

Martha worked as a bookkeeper in downtown Prescott and later became a Practical nurse of Dr. Southworth; and later worked in the hospital in Prescott caring for surgical patients of Dr. McNalley.

Martha was a member of the First Congregational Church in Prescott, Arizona since 1955 and a member of Rebecca Lodge for more than 50 years. She enjoyed sewing and cooking, and she has always had an interest in world affairs and baseball games.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband George; both parents; brother Bob Burnhelm; and sister Florence Peris.

She is survived by nieces, Margaret Headrick and Helen Doam, both of Tucson, Arizona; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Martha will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church at the corner of Alarcon and Gurley streets in Prescott, with burial to follow at the Mountain View Cemetery 1051 Willow Creek Road Prescott.

Services entrusted to Heritage Memory Mortuary.
