Rafaela G. Murrietta, 88, of Casa Grande died Aug. 30, 2005.
Visitation was Friday evening at St. James Catholic Church in Coolidge. Funeral Mass was celebrated there at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial was in Valley Memorial Park.
Ms. Murrietta was born Oct. 24, 1916 in Tucson. She moved to Coolidge as a child and was a longtime resident. She moved to Casa Grande in the late 1970s and was an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She sang in the choir and was a member of Guadalupanas, a women's auxiliary society supporting church functions. She was an avid gardener and a spiritual woman who was kind and generous.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ann Murrieta of Stanfield, Josephine Bonfiglio of Tucson and Irene Espinosa of Anaheim, Calif.; a son, Charles Murrieta of Casa Grande; a brother, Eddie Cruz of Sacramento, Calif.; three sisters, Connie Gonzales and Mary Cardona of Coolidge and Carlota Romero of Eloy; 23 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud Coolidge Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
