| Born in Rockbridge, Illinois on Jun. 7, 1923 Departed on Jun. 17, 2002 and resided in Cottonwood, AZ. Mark Fredrick Devening, 79, of Cottonwood died June 17. He was born June 7, 1923 in Rockbridge, Illinois. Mr. Devening was a retired barber. He was a member of the AMVETS, VFW, and the Illinois and Arizona Barbers Union. He leaves his wife Doris Jean Devening; a daughter, Connie Leadabrand of Williams, Ariz. and Diane Drake of Cottonwood; a son John Devening of Flagstaff, Ariz.; a brother, Arnold Devening of Jerseyville, Ill., seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. There is no public memorial service planned. Donations in his memory may be made to the Faith Baptist Church, Cottonwood. Westcott Funeral Home is directing arrangements.
