Betty Yarborough was born Dec. 26, 1915, in Amarillo, Texas. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 4, 2007.

A graduate of San Diego State University, she earned her master's degree in education and retired from the San Diego City School District after many fruitful years as a teacher and speech and hearing therapist. She was the consummate professional and a loving, caring mother.

The oldest of three children, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart Yarborough; and two siblings.

She is survived by sons, Larry Dennis of Flower Mound, Texas, Gene Dennis of Carlsbad, California; and two daughters, Linda Sandvall of Spring Valley, California and Stephanie Maupin of San Andreas, California.

Her family included 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Betty lived most of her retirement years in Prescott, Arizona, where she was an active member of Calvary Chapel in that city. She had many friends and was loved by all who knew her.

Her ashes will be interred at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery with her beloved husband during a family service at the internment site on May 10, 2007.
