Lonnie Paul Shaw, 29, of Camp Verde, died July 19, 2002. He was born February 21, 1973 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Lonnie was a volunteer firefighter with the Yavapai-Apache Fire Department and the SouthWest Indian Firefighters. He attended the Middle Verde Rock Church.

He was a kind, gentle man with a big heart. He was one who would help anyone in need whether it was to lend a helping hand or give a loving hug no matter who the person was. He always had a kind word or words of encouragement.

Lonnie loved his children with all of his heart, body and soul. He made each one feel special in their own way. Lonnie loved all of his nieces and nephews, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, parents, friends and all others whom he met. He thought of them often and prayed for all that God would keep them in his care.

When Lonnie met his wife helen he knew it was love at first sight. He loved her with all his heart. Lonnie favorite saying to her was ''Only You and Only Me, Till the End''. We love and will miss you always, Lonnie.

He leaves his wife, Helen Joy Shaw; daughters, Zayna Turner and Mariah Turner; sons, Johnny Turner and Marcus Shaw; his parents Paul and Colleen Shaw; sisters, Wendy Wiki and Paula Wiki; brothers, Michael David Brown, Victor John Wicki and Charles McEwan.

A visitation will be held Friday, July 26 in the Middle Verde Rock Church, starting at 5 p.m. A funeral service will held Saturday, July 27 at the Church at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Middle Verde Tribal Cemetery.

Westcott Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
