Velma Louise (Brown) Rieb Born in Ariba, Colorado on Sept. 17, 1950. Departed on July 11, 2004 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona. Velma Louise (Brown) Rieb, 73, of Cottonwood died July 11. She was born July 21, 1930 in Ariba, Colorado. Mrs. Rieb worked as a Campground Host, Luggage Store Manager, Fabric Store Manager, Bank Teller and as a Doctor's receptionist. Her husband of 52 years, Edwin 'Eddie' Reuben Rieb, preceded her in death in April 2003. For the last thirty years Velma and Eddie enjoyed campground hosting in Colorado and Arizona. Velma and Eddie were awarded the Arizona State Park 2004 Volunteers of the Year. A member of the Verde Baptist Church, she also enjoyed sewing and craftwork and visiting the elderly. She leaves two sons and their wives, Dale and Nancy Rieb of Portland, Or. and Stan and Heidi Rieb of Rock Springs, Wy.; a daughter and her husband, Darla and Steve Pick of Camp Verde; two sisters and their husbands, Ruth and George Thompson of Prescott and Maxine and Bryce Wilkins of Fremont, Neb.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A brother, Donald Brown preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 14 at the Verde Baptist Church at 6:00 p.m. Donations in her memory may be made to Northern Arizona Hospice, 269 S. Candy Lane, Cottonwood, Ariz., 86326 or to the Verde Baptist Church, 102 S. Willard St, Cottonwood, Ariz., 86326 to the Agape Health Ministry. Westcott Funeral Home served the family.
